What Plugins Does WordPress Master Use?

in Good Plugins

I know when I go to another blog using WordPress, one of the first things that comes crashing through my mind is – “I wonder what plugins this blog uses“.

So, I thought I’d do a quick post here showing you what plugins I use on this blog.

Be warned though – there are a LOT of them, and more being added all of the time.  See, I test plugins just about everyday.  I want to see which ones actually help, and which ones are a waste of time and energy. As I test more and start using new plugins, you’ll be able to come back to this post and see which ones have been added, and which ones got the boot!

Quite a few there I use myself. Great Post, sure that you are using a plugin to list all these. Just one idea though is it really wise to list them all, I would feel that you are inviting script junkies to find back doors. Anyway keep up the great work.

I pleased you took my statement the right way, after posting I had second thoughts. Yes its a great thing to help others and I am sure the community appreciates it. As for the stats, I use the http://yoast.com/wordpress/analytics/ Google analytics. For the opt-in it all depends, what kind of level you require, if you want a low key job I know of one that works with php-list, or I generally just use the standard forms that come from the companies such as aweber and verticalresponse. I use the http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/exec-php/ plugin to make sure all the code works. I wrote some reviews about some different opt-in companies the other day. I don’t mean this to be a shameless plug for my own site. Sorry if it seems that way, I am no aware at what level you are at, if you see what I mean. Best George

I completely forgot that I wrote the category highlight plugin. Found this by Googling my own name. Thanks for the mention :)

@George, Thanks for commenting. I’m sure there are a few plugins a lot of people use. Like the All-In-One-Seo and so on. But hopefully there are a few some people don;t know about yet and will help them with their blog as well.

I’m testing more all of the time so keep your eyes open. I’m actually about to start testing an Autoresponder plugin and comparing a couple different stats programs to.

Yes, I used a plugin called wp-pluginsUsed.

As for “script junkies” using the list to find a backdoor, let’s hope not – know what I mean. It does suck that in this day and age we have to worry about giving to much info to help others because of those people that will mis-use it.

I do have a bunch of Wp security in place as well server security. So hopefully I’ve covered my butt here :-)

Thanks again for commenting.

@George, Hey we all need traffic to our sites right. as long as it’s relevant to the post or the comments and it helps then by all means, plug away :-)

I’m actually going to be testing a couple responder plugins I already have on the testing block. I use a self hosted Autoresponder so.

As for stats, right now I’m using WassUp. I want to test others though because I see that plugin actually showing the blog down some over time, and we don;t want that do we.

Thanks again for commenting.
